The SEO Research report

Where a dental practice in Milton, GA stands on Google and in AI tools, what is holding it back, and what to do in the next 90 days.

The short version

1 of 60searches we checked where the site is anywhere in Google's top 100 (cosmetic dentist milton ga, at #83)
0 of 32AI answers that name the practice (8 patient questions, asked to 4 AI tools)
-93%Google impressions since March 2026 (about 210 a day then, about 14 a day now), with the drops right after Google spam updates
4.1 of 10site score on what Google and AI tools look for

The practice has a solid start: 5 service pages and 126 articles, no broken links, and a clear call to action on every page. Three things hold it back. A block of hidden keywords on the homepage breaks Google's spam rules, and Search Console shows the cost: Google showed the site 93% less often after its March and June 2026 spam updates. The services people search for most have no page (implants, cosmetic, whitening, Invisalign, emergency, Alpharetta). And Google and AI tools cannot tell who the business is: there is no business schema, no author on any article, and the practice is missing from the directories AI tools trust. Fix the foundation in weeks 1 and 2, build the missing pages in weeks 3 to 8, then work on trust and AI in weeks 9 to 12.

What we found

1. Hidden keywords, and Google noticed Impact: high Effort: low

What we saw

The homepage carries a block of text visitors cannot see: "dentist, dentistry, dentists, Dentist near me, Family dentist, General..." It is there only for search engines.

What Search Console shows

We lined up 16 months of the site's Google data with every ranking update Google has announced. The site was showing up in Google about 210 times a day in early March 2026. It fell after the March spam and core updates, fell hard after the June spam update, and has stayed down since: about 14 a day over the last 90 days, with 0 clicks. 49 of the 50 key pages are still indexed, so this is not a technical problem: Google is choosing to show the site less.

June 2026 spam updateJune 249616
August 2026 spam updateAugust 181817
September 2026 spam updateSeptember 24148

Why it matters

Hidden text is named in Google's spam policies, and the timing of the drops matches Google's spam updates. It can hold back rankings for the whole site, not just the homepage. This is the first thing to fix.

What to do

Delete the hidden block. If a word matters, use it once in visible text. Work order 1

2. The homepage title and heading are stuffed with keywords Impact: high Effort: low

What we saw

The homepage title starts with a tooth emoji, repeats "dentist" 5 ways, and still says 2023. The main heading on the page reads "Dentist, Dentist Milton Ga, Dentists Near Milton Ga, Dentist". The description starts with "Dentist:" and ends with "Dentist Milton". The service page titles are fine but do not mention Alpharetta, where most of the searches come from.

Why it matters

The title is the blue link people click in Google. A stuffed title looks spammy to people and to Google, and it hides the one thing a patient wants to see: a dentist near them.

What to do

Use the new titles below. Work order 2 has the descriptions too.

3. The services people search for most have no page Impact: high Effort: high

What we saw

We checked 60 searches patients use and grouped the ones Google treats as the same need. They fit on 54 pages. The site has pages for exams, fillings, x-rays, smile restoration and cleaning, but nothing for implants, cosmetic dentistry, whitening, Invisalign, emergencies or Alpharetta. The table shows the biggest groups and which page should win each one.

What the "What Google shows" column means. Map pack: Google shows a map with 3 local businesses above the regular results. For those searches, the Google Business Profile (reviews, categories, hours, distance) decides who shows up as much as the website does. AI Overview: Google shows an AI-written answer at the top; the goal is to be one of the sources it quotes (a short, direct answer near the top of the page, lists or tables, schema), and to expect fewer clicks even at #1. Shopping: product listings with prices show; to appear there you need your products in Google Merchant Center. Regular results: none of these, so ranking in the top 3 gets the click. In this market almost every local service search shows a map pack, and cost and how-to questions almost all show an AI Overview. Standard covers the website side; the Complete package adds a full Google Maps and Business Profile check.

Why it matters

Google ranks a page for a search only if the page is about that search. With no implants page, the practice cannot show up for implants, however good the rest of the site is.

What to do

Build the missing pages in order of demand. Standard includes 2 detailed plans: Dental Implants (new) and Teeth Cleaning (improve). More plans can be added for $395 each.

Keywords to go after

Beyond the 60 searches above, we pulled every search 5 nearby practices rank for in Google's top 20 (Smile Makers of Georgia, Milton Family Dental Care, DentFirst, Milton Dental and Stonewalk Dentistry), then removed other towns, other practices' names and anything already on the list. 110 searches were left. These are the best of them. Search counts are US totals: your local share is a slice of each, but the order holds.

Articles that bring in readers

Stonewalk Dentistry gets found through helpful articles, not just service pages. The practice already has 126 articles, so the habit is there; these are topics with real demand. Each article should link to the matching service page. Every one of these topics shows a Google AI Overview, so each article should open with a 40 to 60 word answer Google can quote, then go deeper.

What else we found

4. Google and AI tools cannot tell who the business is Impact: high Effort: medium

What we saw

The site passes 0 of 259 checks for business schema (the code that tells machines "this is a dental practice at this address, open these hours"). There is a Dentist schema block on the homepage, but it is pasted inside another code block, so it cannot be read and Google ignores it. We checked the schema on 35 pages: the homepage has a FAQ block, and the service pages and articles have none. None of the 126 articles names an author. 131 pages never link to a service page. Every page does have a clear call to action and phone number, which scored a full 10.

What to do

Fix the broken Dentist schema, add it to the service pages, and name the author on every article. Work order 3

5. AI tools recommend other practices Impact: medium Effort: medium

What we saw

We asked ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode 8 questions patients ask, like "Who is the best dentist in Milton GA?" and "Where can I get dental implants in Alpharetta GA?". None of the 32 answers named the practice. These are the sites they named most often (times named, out of 32 answers):

The practice0

Why it matters

More patients now ask an AI tool instead of searching. The AI answers with a short list of practices, each with an address, hours and phone, and it pulls those details from practice websites and directories like Zocdoc and DentistsRanked.

What to do

Get listed on the directories AI uses, and state the address, hours and phone near the top of every page. The 3 AI breakdowns show exactly what the cited pages do. Work order 4

6. The site has few real links from other websites Impact: medium Effort: high

What we saw

Link tools count about 2,500 sites linking here, but almost all of them are spam sites that link to every dental website (of the newest ones, 29 of 30 were spam). The number that matters is authority: how much search engines trust the site, on a scale of 0 to 1,000.

coastdental.com292
stonewalkdentistry.com125
dentalestheticsstudio.com121
northfultonsmiles.com110
crabapplefamilydentistry.com31
The practice29

Why it matters

When two pages are equally good, the more trusted site usually wins. Nearby practices are about 4 times as trusted.

What to do

Do not buy links. Earn real local ones: the directory listings in work order 4, local sponsorships, the chamber of commerce, and suppliers or specialists you work with.

7. Business details: consistent, but key facts are missing Impact: low Effort: low

What we saw

The address and phone match everywhere we read them. Missing from the site: the dentist's name, the year the practice opened, and a one-line description of the practice.

Why it matters

AI tools describe a business from these facts. If the site does not say them, the AI says nothing, or guesses.

What to do

Add them to the About page, the footer and the schema in work order 3.

8. Slow on phones Impact: medium Effort: medium

What we saw

We ran Google's own speed test (Lighthouse, phone). Google only publishes speed data from real visitors once a site has enough traffic, and this site does not have enough yet, so these are lab results. Google's target is to show the main content within 2.5 seconds. The homepage takes 6.0 seconds and weighs 20.5 MB, about 10 times a typical page; Teeth Cleaning takes 7.7 seconds. The site does not get enough visitors for Google's real-visitor speed data, so these are lab tests.

PageSpeed scoreMain content shows inPage size
Homepage70 of 1006.0 seconds20.5 MB
/teeth-cleaning/70 of 1007.7 seconds1.2 MB

What to do

Compress and resize the homepage images and load the main image first. Work order 5

9. Site health: mostly good Impact: low Effort: low

What we saw

We checked every page the way Google does. 142 pages can appear in search, 0 links are broken, and no two pages compete for the same search. Small fixes: 6 pages have no main heading (H1), 1 page has no links pointing to it (/important-terms/), and 2 archive pages sit more than 3 clicks from the homepage.

What to do

Covered in work order 1.

What it could be worth

If the Dental Implants page reaches Google's top 3 for its two local searches (1,440 a month), expect roughly 100 to 150 visits a month and 3 to 7 new-patient calls. How we got there: searches, times a typical top-3 click rate (about 18%), cut in half because a map pack shows on these searches, times a typical 3 to 5% call rate.

An estimate, not a promise. On your call we replace the typical rates with your own numbers: what a new implant patient is worth to you and how many callers book.

Your 90-day plan

Weeks 1 and 2: fix the foundation

  • Remove the hidden keywords and add the missing headings (WO 1)
  • New titles and descriptions (WO 2)
  • Business schema and article authors (WO 3)
  • Phone speed (WO 5)

Weeks 3 to 8: build the missing pages

  • Dental Implants (page plan 1)
  • Upgrade Teeth Cleaning (page plan 2)
  • Then, in order: Alpharetta, Cosmetic, Whitening, Invisalign, Emergency

Weeks 9 to 12: trust and AI

  • Directory listings, Google Business Profile and reviews (WO 4)
  • Practice details near the top of every page
  • Link each article to the service it is about
  • Write 4 articles from the keyword list: mouthwash, tartar, braces cost, a broken front tooth
This is a plan, not a promise of rankings. Google needs time to find and trust new pages, and results come as the work gets done. Your 60-minute call is where we go through this together and agree what to do first.
